Today we had to take a long drive to Woodland Hills. On the way home, Beatrice and Arthur devised an elaborate plan to paint our car (that is, they wanted to use their kid's arts and crafts paint to paint all over our car, which they know they aren't allowed to do). The best part is that they were planning this all "in secret" while talking very loudly in the backseat a few feet away.
The Plan: First, they ask me to get them their paints and a stepstool (to paint the top of the car) and to bring the supplies outside. Then they tell me they are going to go outside "to practice somersaults," to get me to open the front door. They wait until I am "taking a nap briefly." Then they go outside and paint the car "in the street" without setting up any orange cones (I'm not quite sure why this detail was so important but they mentioned it several times). It was important that they were "unsupervised" and that I wasn't looking out the window.
But what if the cops came? Their plan was to tell the police that they were working in "a car painting store."
Pretty solid plan.
