Easter cake |
It was another relaxed Easter - and now that our backyard is (mostly) done, we were able to host our egg hunt party back in our own yard again (we held it in a park last year).
Filling the eggs |

Finn and his eggs - it was also his 6th birthday. |

That night, we dyed eggs using this great "egg lathe" I picked up this year.
B's sea-foam egg was my favorite.
Then it was Easter morning! The kids searched the yard for their Easter baskets. Or Beatrice and Arthur did, William was perfectly happy playing with the chickens. (And later, when William did find the toys in his basket, he ran over to show them to his friends, the chickens.)
Balls make William SO HAPPY. |
Then we went downtown for lunch at Grand Central Market (pupusas and McConnell's, the best ice cream in the city) and played at the new playground in Grand Park.
Poor Arthur woke up at 5am because he was so excited about Easter, so by lunch he was tired enough to lie down and try to sleep on the playground.
I love this photo series of Arthur, expressing his many opinions while reclining on the pink park chairs.
We also stopped by Chinatown to get a new chicken, Lilli 3 (RIP, Lilli 2).
Bathing the new chicken |
Then, late at night, we headed down to Cabrillo Beach to see the grunions. All in all, a good day.
We can't wait for the next holidays, birthdays for Dev, then Arthur, me, and Beatrice.
