Last night we drove all the way to Acton (about 40 miles northeast) to pick up the new Lilli from a very friendly chicken breeder who's also a rocket scientist with JPL (!). We went to the breeder because we had been wanting to get this particular breed, a Barred Plymouth Rock. (Lenore is a Black Star and Luanne is a Rhode Island Red.) And Lilli is already a layer, so we should be getting twice as many eggs from now on.
