Arthur, Month Eight

Looking thoughtful

And classy

Arthur's eighth month was mostly spent on Christmas activities, a trip to Texas, and then a New Year's visit from my parents (photos to follow). But he also made some big strides in both standing and speaking.

He has been trying to stand without holding on to anything and a few times he's succeeded—for a few seconds, at least. He is also working on walking while pushing a wheeled cartthough he emphatically refuses to do so on video.

Meanwhile, he is constantly squealing, laughing, and babbling. He spends all day saying "dada," a meaningless phoneme that Dev nonetheless swears refers to him. Whatever Arthur means by "dada," he enjoys saying it, and just today when I said "bye" to Marie as she was leaving I swear Arthur said "bye" too. He is also fond of waving—but also not on video.

As Arthur gets older he is also starting to play more with Beatrice.

Marie took this picture of them having a tea party outside

Unfortunately Arthur spent much of the past few weeks with a cold and/or an ear infection and so he wasn't always in the best mood. However, if there's one thing that always cheers him up, it's Bagels and Beyoncé.

A few more highlights, including Baby's First Lightsaber and Baby's First Shoes.

NERD!
