We're Back!

It's been nearly a year since I last updated this blog. In that time, so much has happened. I'm getting divorced, I live in a new place, I have a new job, and this blog has a new name and address. But it's really important to me to keep updating this blog - it's the only record I have of all the things the kids say and do, and a central place to find photos, videos, and family stories.

Over the next few weeks, I'll be (slowly) updating until we're caught up to the present day. I'll also be redesigning the blog with a new look and layout.

Welcome back!

New Taxidermy Projects

**Warning: Some of these photos are (not surprisingly) a little graphic.**

Despite the busy spring and summer I had adjusting to the new apartment and job, I did manage to do a few taxidermy projects, including mounting a lovely badger and learning some new techniques for skinning (which I practiced on a squirrel I'd found as road kill in Griffith Park).

Working on the badger:

All done!

Our Seventh Annual Girl's Weekend

This year Summer, Amy, Amy, Stephanie, and I went up to Santa Barbara for our seventh annual girls' weekend trip, and we had a wonderful time (as always).

4th of July Is Saved!

This year my parents were in town visiting for 4th of July. We had planned to take the kids to watch fireworks at the Hollywood Bowl, but when that turned into a disaster (lines were several hours long even for those like us, who had already purchased our tickets in advance) Amy Robb graciously invited us to her nearby neighborhood party instead. And of course, it was much more fun.

William somehow slept through all of it.
