Thank you, Mom!

My mother just went home on Sunday after spending two weeks helping me with the house, the dogs, and the baby, and we missed her about two minutes after she left. Beatrice is particularly fond of my mother singing to her - I'm afraid my singing will be a poor substitute.

Welcome Beatrice Kumar

Beatrice Kumar was born at 2:31pm on June 2nd at 6 pounds, 3 ounces and 19-1/2 inches long after a quick and relatively easy labor. Everyone is doing really well, resting and getting to know each other, and we'll all be going home tomorrow afternoon.

Less than one month to go ...

Here I am, very large, at almost 37 weeks pregnant.

Today we had yet another ultrasound (our third in four weeks) and confirmed that the baby is fine and healthy, though a bit small, and according to the tech, he has a "small nose."

For some reason I'm very delighted by this fact. I think because it's my first piece of personal and specific information about the baby, versus useful but colorless facts like its heartrate, fluid levels, or projected birth weight.
